Dear Anthony and Neena
I wanted to thank you both again for providing me with the opportunity to participate in CFAR's Fundamentals of HIV Prevention Counseling training last August. I started volunteering with two clinics since, and have found it immensely useful.

HIV+ Study Subjects sought: ANCHOR Trial (Phase III)
Living with HIV has gotten a lot easier but with longer lifespans come a new set of challenges, including cancer. Under the direction of Lisa Flowers, the goal of the ANCHOR study is to find the best way to prevent anal cancer among HIV positive men and women. Volunteers will be screened for pre-cancerous anal lesions. If lesions are found, volunteers will be enrolled and randomized to either have the lesions treated or monitored every six months. Both groups will be followed for a minimum of five years.

Government News

From the April edition of Georgia Equality:

"The 2017 state of Georgia legislative session ended after the traditional midnight deadline, in the early morning hours of March 31st. When the Senate finally gaveled out, LGBT advocates issued a sigh of relief: No anti-LGBT legislation will advance in 2017. There were rumors circulating the Capitol late into the evening on March 30 that there might be a last ditch effort to revive religious exemptions legislation that would permit people to discriminate against LGBT in Georgia simply by citing their "religious beliefs."

Divider Rule Focus On... March for Science Atlanta

Focus On...

Date: April 22 (Same as Earth Day)
Location: Candler Park
Time: 12:00 - 4:00pm

A few months ago a number of really smart people formed the nonprofit March For Science Atlanta and have been working hard since then to bring all of us scientists and science advocates together for a demonstration.

The organizers hope to attract at least 10,000 people in order to support things (like the EPA) and protest things (like NIH budget cuts).

Please come out and show your support for scientific research!
