The Emory CFAR Academic Investigation Dinner Seminar and Soiree (CFAR AIDS Soiree) meets periodically throughout the year between September and May. Membership in the club is free and open to all people interested in HIV/AIDS-related basic, clinical, behavioral, social, or translational research as well as research-based clinical, prevention, and educational practice.
The membership of the CAS includes scientists, epidemiologists, policy makers, community based organizations, and academic, public health, and private practice care providers who are interested in HIV/AIDS vaccine development, vaccine testing, HIV pathogenesis, new drug discovery, clinical research, biomedical prevention interventions, behavioral and social prevention interventions, translational research, and international studies, as they contribute to HIV/AIDS knowledge, prevention, care and service.
Our members come from Emory University, Georgia State University, Mercer University, Morehouse School of Medicine, the University of Georgia, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the state of Georgia government, local community based research and service organizations, charitable foundations, and private industry.
The mission of the CAS is to facilitate the growth, dissemination, and application of HIV/AIDS-related research by stimulating research collaborations among HIV/AIDS investigators and networking between academic researchers and the HIV/AIDS research, prevention, care, and service community in Georgia.
Our mission is also to have a really good time at our meetings.
